The apparatus for adjusting the roll position in stands with two working rolls includes hydraulic pressure cells which are connected directly to the roll bearing blocks, and are provided with a movable piston (2) and stationary parts (1, 3). A movable slidable rod (11) passes through the piston (2) and is provided with an end element (12) engaging with a corresponding undercut in the respective bearing block. The purpose of the rod (11), which emerges from the stationary part (3) of the pressure cell through a guide bush (4) forming an integral part of the piston (2), is to equilibrate the roll weight and to take up any play along the axis of the pressure cell.
