The element forms part of the grille which is constructed in the manner of roofing tiles, from moving elements which are laid one above the other. The grille supplies primary air to fuel material which is placed on it. The underside of the head (7) of the element has an outlet (10) for the primary air which opens downwards, and the upper side has at least one projection (11) for the air outlet of the element which lies above it. The projection or projections may be arranged in the rear region, which faces the fixed or driven end (5) of the element.
