Centre console for use inside car

The centre console is fitted between two front seats inside a car, and has an armrest (13) which can be adjusted relative to one of the front seats. The height of the armrest can be adjusted using lifting mechanism (5,6,18) which has a bellows (18). The bellows is acted upon by a pressure device which is integrated into the vehicle, and the armrest can be moved relative to the centre console using a parallelogram guide (14,15). The longitudinal and transverse movements are coupled, and the guide may be mounted on a support (7) in the console, so that it extends in a plane which is oblique relative to the longitudinal direction of the vehicle, and which climbs towards the front.
