Machine dressing bald hair piece by insertion with needle achieves uniform distribution through improved mechanism

The machine inserts hair into a hair piece, especially a toupee. Transparent plastic sheets of PVC are placed one over the other onto a hard positive mould. Individual hairs are inserted from above, into the sheets. Following insertion of all hairs, they are adhered to the carrier sheet and pressed down. The machine comprises a cabinet containing stepper motors and control elements adjusting the moving parts. The top of the cabinet forms a baseplate for mounting the positive mould and the insertion needle, with its hair supply. The needle head (15) is set above the baseplate. Beneath the needle, the mould (12a) has freedom of elevation and tilting under control from the stepper drives, allowing the needle to make insertions normal to the surface at every point. Further preferred mechanical detail of the drive linkages is supplied.
