PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalytic reaction apparatus that can detect which components of a temperature detector and a heater have abnormality, and to provide an operational method thereof.SOLUTION: A case in which a first heater is operated, and a second heater is stopped is defined as a first condition, a case in which the second heater is operated, and the first heater is stopped is defined as a second condition, the first heater and the second heater are operated by preset outputs, respectively. If, in the first condition, at least one of that a first temperature detector detects a temperature out of a first temperature range, and that a second temperature detector detects a temperature out of a second temperature range, takes place, operation is performed in the second condition, and if, in the first condition and the second condition, the first temperature detector detects a temperature out of the first temperature range or the second temperature detector detects a temperature out of the second temperature range, at least one of abnormality determination, abnormality notice, operation shutdown and next time start prohibition is controlled to be performed. |
