PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a structure which inhibits the deformation of a side surface of a battery case even when an internal pressure of the battery case increases and causes a cleavage groove to be cleaved unfailingly when the internal pressure exceeds a threshold value.SOLUTION: A sealed battery (1) includes a columnar battery case (2) where an electrode body (30) and an electrolyte are sealed therein. On a side surface of the battery case (2), a recessed part (41), which is recessed to the interior of the battery case (2), is formed on an edge line (L) formed on the side surface of the battery case (2) when the battery case (2) is expanded due to the increase of the internal pressure. In a welding part (50) formed between an exterior can (10) and a lid plate (20), front and back long side parts respectively extend in a linear manner, and weld weak parts (51) are respectively formed only at one-end sides of the front and back long side parts when viewed in a lateral direction. |
