PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low height imaging system and an associated method.SOLUTION: A low height imaging system 20 comprises: one or more optical channels 12; and a detector array 14. Each of the optical channels associated with at least one detector of the array comprises one or more optical components and a restrictive ray corrector 22, and is configured to direct steeper incident angle field rays onto the at least one detector. The low height imaging system comprises: a detector array; and a GRIN lens comprising a surface using wave front coding and configured to direct the steeper incident angle field rays onto a plurality of detectors of the detector array.
