PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cationic emulsion which can be produced without detergent or with using a very small amount of detergent, the method of producing the emulsion, and a water repellent, a water repellent assistant, a processing method of repellency, a method of producing a water repellent fiber product and a water repellent fiber product by using the emulsion.SOLUTION: The emulsion includes a paraffin wax, cationic acrylic polymer and water, where in the cationic polymer is a copolymer of monomer compositions containing (a) a (meth)acrylic acid ester monomer which is an ester of (meth)acrylic acid and alcohol with more than 10 carbon atoms and (b) a (meth)acrylic acid ester monomer which is an ester of (meth)acrylic acid and tertiary amino alcohol.
