ADSORBENT FOR PROTEIN PURIFICATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel protein adsorbent which adsorbs protein in a low salt concentration solution and allows the adsorbed protein to be easily eluted by changing pH of the solution, and to provide a protein purification method using the adsorbent.SOLUTION: There is provided an adsorbent for protein purification obtained by immobilizing, to a carrier via a spacer, an aryl carbonyl group represented by general formula (1) (Rand Reach independently represent a hydrogen atom or an amino group and Rand Rmay be united to form an imidazole ring; and X represents a nitrogen atom or an unsubstituted or amino group-substituted methine group). Also there is provided a protein purification method using the adsorbent.
