PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tape cartridge which can be read while attribute information on itself is set, and a tape printer which prints thereupon.SOLUTION: A tape cartridge 2 comprises: an ink ribbon R; and a tape T, and is configured such that a code image formed by coding attribute information is recorded on the ink ribbon R and can be read by a predetermined sensor (line sensor 19) at an arbitrary position in an extending direction of the rink ribbon R. Further, a tape printer 1 is configured to print on a tape T that the tape cartridge 2 has, and also comprises: a predetermined sensor (line sensor 19) which reads the code image recorded on the ink ribbon R; an attribute information analysis part (control part 30) which analyzes the attribute information on the tape T by decoding the code image read by the predetermined sensor; and a printing control part (control part 30) which controls printing based upon the attribute information analyzed by the attribute information analysis part. |
