PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate image processing of the irregularity of an original.SOLUTION: The image reader for reading the image of an original includes a first light source and a second light source for irradiating an original with light, image reading means disposed between the first and second light sources, and reading the image data by receiving the light reflected on the original by means of light-receiving elements arranged in the main scanning direction, a light source lighting control unit for switching the lighting of the first and second light sources during read operation in units of resolution in the sub-scanning direction of the original, and an image processing section which performs image processing on the basis of the first image data read by the image reading means while lighting the first light source, and the second image data read by the image reading means while lighting the second light source. |
