PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a positioning and to enable exact positioning by coupling light propagation means and a light receiving element, light emitting element or the light propagation means to each other via a diffraction grating. SOLUTION: A bulk material of fluorinated polymethyl methacrylate (F- PMMA) having high transparent light of both of wavelengths of 1.3μm and 1.55m is worked. The end faces 1, 2 of the bulk material are formed planes and the end face 3 is deposited with aluminum by evaporation and functions as a concave mirror. The optical module is provided with an insertion guide 4 mounting an optical fiber for two-way communication, a laser diode 5, an insertion guide 6 for mounting an optical fiber for output of 1.55μm light and a photodiode 7 and gratings 8 inscribe on the end face 3. The optical fiber 9 for two-way communication, the laser diode 5, the optical fiber 10 for output of 1.55μm light and the photodiode 7 are optically coupled via the gratings 8 on the concave mirror.
