HELIUM GAS SEPARATOR MATERIAL, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME

A helium separator material comprises a base part and a gas separation part that is joined to the base part. The base part is composed of an alpha-alumina porous body which has continuous holes having an average diameter of 50 to 1,000 nm. The gas separation part has a gamma-alumina porous part containing an Ni element and a silica membrane part formed on the inner walls of continuous holes in the porous part, wherein the average diameter of pores surrounded and formed by the silica membrane part is 0.27 to 0.60 nm.
