PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup device for easily dividing the image for picking up an image by dividing the image pickup area. SOLUTION: When dividing an entire picture into (x) pieces of horizontal divided pictures and (y) pieces of vertical divided pictures, this device sets the (x), the (y), a number R of reflection parts and a number T of transmission parts so as to satisfy the unequalities of R<=(X/2+Y/2)×2 and T<=X/2×Y/2 (when the (x) is an even number, X=x, when the (x) is an odd number, X=x+1, the (y) is an even number, Y=y and the (y) is an odd number, Y=y+1) and the equality of (x)×(y)=R+T. Then, the image pickup picture is divided into 3×4 pieces of pictures, four transmission parts and eight reflection planes are provided, the upper step is defined as a transmission part 217, left reflection plane 227, transmission part 237 and right reflection plane 247 from the left side, the middle step is defined as an upward reflection plane 257, downward reflection plane 267, upward reflection plane 277 and downward reflection plane 287 from the left side, and the lower step is defined as a left reflection plane 297, transmission part 2A7, right reflection plane 2B7 and transmission part 2C7 from the left side.
