<p>Torrefaction of biomass in a torrefaction system with at least one torrefaction reactor (8) using torrefaction gas (9), which is produced during torrefaction, comprises combusting the torrefaction gas with a water-steam-cycle in a power plant coupled with the torrefaction reactor as secondary fuel, and at least partially decoupling energy required for torrefaction from the power plant. An independent claim is also included for a device for carrying out the above mentioned method, comprising the torrefaction reactor, at least a steam generator (1) and at least one turbine, which is operated with steam from the water-steam cycle of the steam generator, where the torrefaction reactor is directly or indirectly coupled thermally to the steam generator.</p> |
