<p>A zoom lens comprises, in order from an object side, a first lens group having a positive refractive power, a second lens group having a negative refractive power, a third lens group having a positive refractive power, a fourth lens group having a negative refractive power, and a fifth lens group having a positive refractive power. When zooming from a wide-angle end to a telephoto end, the distance between the first lens group and the second lens group increases, the distance between the second lens group and the third lens group decreases, the distance between the third lens group and the fourth lens group changes, and the distance between the fourth lens group and the fifth lens group decreases. The third lens group comprises three positive lenses and one negative lens in order from the object side. The fifth lens group comprises, in order from the object side, a fifth A lens group having a positive refractive power and a fifth B lens group having a negative refractive power, said fifth B lens group being separated from the fifth A lens group by an air gap.
