Disclosed are a display device controlled by a pointing device and a control method thereof. The display device controlled by a pointing device according to an embodiment of the present invention includes: at least one sensor (the sensor is located apart from each other) which is installed in the display device; a controller for adjusting a location of a pointer to make a location point of the pointing device corresponds to the location point which the pointing device indicates when a location point which the pointing device indicates is belong to a first region as a sensing result of the sensor and adjusting a location of a pointer based on a motion of the pointing device when a location point of the pointing device indicates is in a second region; and a display module for outputting a pointer having the location-adjusted by the controller on a screen.
