PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate an unnecessary portion generated at an edge of a coated portion adjacent to an exposed portion without impairing external appearance of a steering wheel.SOLUTION: A steering wheel 1 comprises: a core metal 10; a coated portion 20 composed of a coating material coated on the core metal 10; and an exposed portion 6 exposing the core metal 10 without coating the core metal 10 with the coating material. When manufacturing the steering wheel 1, a protective member 30 is disposed at a boundary position K between the coated portion 20 and the exposed portion 6 of the core metal 10. In the state, the core metal 10 is coated with the coating material while exposing the exposed portion 6, and an edge 23 of the coated portion 20 adjacent to the exposed portion 6 is formed on a surface 31 of the protective member 30. An unnecessary portion 25 generated at the edge 23 of the coated portion 20 is cut on the surface 31 of the protective member 30, and the protective member 30 and the cut unnecessary portion 25 are eliminated. |
