PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an object change detection apparatus and an object change detection method, capable of rapidly and accurately detecting change of an object around a vehicle.SOLUTION: An object change detection apparatus detects an object from an image; acquires characteristic quantity distribution indicating shape information of the detected object; on the basis of the shape information indicated by the acquired characteristic quantity distribution, acquires shape change information of the object indicating time change of the shape information in a predetermined time; analyzes the frequency of the acquired shape change information and the strength of the frequency; on the basis of the analyzed strength of the frequency, selects the analyzed frequency or an initial value preliminarily stored in a storage part as a cycle parameter used for change detection of the object; and detects change of the object by using the acquired shape change information and the selected cycle parameter. |
