PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a character input device capable of dynamically changing the size of an input area for hand-write inputting by means of gestures.SOLUTION: The character input device includes: a movement frequency count section 12 that counts the frequency of the movement from a first character input area to a second character input area neighboring the first character input area based on contact information 111 which is output from a contact detection section 11 while the contact detection section 11 detects a contact as an operation element and outputs the same as movement frequency information 121; an input area change determination section 13 that outputs input area change information 131 when the frequency of the movement frequency information 121 exceeds a predetermined specified frequency; and a display control section that generates a piece of display information 141 based on the input area change information 131. |
