The invention identifies the location of a mobile terminal in a vehicle interior for mobile terminals brought into the interior of a vehicle. A location identification system comprising a mobile terminal and an information association device configured so as to be capable of mutual wireless communication, for which the information association device identifies the location of a mobile terminal in the vehicle interior by way of the mobile terminal brought into the interior of the vehicle detecting a signaling tone emitted from a speaker provided in the vehicle, is characterized in that: the mobile terminal comprises a means for storing detection information pertaining to the time the signaling tone was detected and a means for transmitting a first notification signal containing detection information; and the information association device comprises a means for causing each of a plurality of speakers to emit a signaling tone with a prescribed time gap therebetween, and a means for identifying the location of the mobile terminal in the vehicle interior using information pertaining to the speakers and the relative distance between the mobile terminal and a sound source of the signaling tone calculated on the basis of the prescribed time gap and the interval between the times when the signaling tones were detected.
