<p>According to one embodiment of the present invention, a decimated colour image is obtained by either decimating and reading out, in accordance with a decimation pattern from an imaging element, pixel signals from a plurality of pixels, or by extracting, in accordance with a decimation pattern from a colour image corresponding to a colour filter array read out from an imaging element, pixel signals from a plurality of pixels. As a result, video data is generated on the basis of the decimated colour image, but, by using the decimated colour image as the image to be subjected to video processing, processing time per frame can be shortened, without reducing frame rate. Furthermore, by decimating and reading out pixels from an imaging device, image readout time from the imaging element can be shortened.</p> |
