The device (1) has a mold (10) provided with an upper part (12) and a base part (14) for defining a cavity (16). A foam material (2) i.e. polyurethane, is introduced into the cavity between the upper- and base parts. The mold comprises a through hole such that a function insert (20) such as sprue-closure and/or ventilation insert, is inserted into the through hole by a quick-release, form-locking connection e.g. bayonet fitting and ring snap closure. The function insert consist of a material i.e. high-density polyethylene, having self-releasing characteristics against the foam material.
