The method involves inserting a filter cartridge (7) into an aperture of a filter holder (1) before starting a dirt suction device e.g. turbine unit. The filter cartridge or contaminated surfaces of the dirt suction device are not in contact with environment during exchanging the filter cartridges by two disposal bags. The disposal bags are air tightly attached with peripheral surface of the aperture of the filter holder. A filter fixing unit (4) is removed such that the filter cartridge falls from the aperture of the filter holder into the disposal bag by applying gravitational force. An independent claim is also included for a dirt suction device for performing contamination-free exchange of a filter cartridge.
