This device for generating electrolytically treated water is provided with a first electrolysis chamber, a second electrolysis chamber, an ion-permeable membrane, a first electrode, a second electrode, a direct current power source, a first supply unit, a first flow path, a connection switching unit, and a water quality sensor. The direct current power source selectively applies a normal voltage and/or a counter voltage between the first electrode and the second electrode. The first supply unit selectively supplies water and/or an aqueous electrolyte solution to the first electrolysis chamber. The connection switching unit switches between a connection between the first electrolysis chamber and the first flow path, and a connection between the first electrolysis chamber and a drainage path. The water quality sensor if provided on the first flow path. The device for generating electrolytically treated water executes the following steps: a step in which, when treated water has been discharged from the first electrolysis chamber, the connection between the first electrolysis chamber and the first flow path is switched to a connection between the first electrolysis chamber and the drainage path; a step in which the applied voltage is changed to the counter voltage; a step in which the applied voltage is changed to the normal voltage; and a step in which, after it has been detected that treated water has been discharged from the first electrolysis chamber, the connection is switched to the connection between the first electrolysis chamber and the first flow path. |
