The bail assembly includes a bail configured to be coupled to the dipper and an equalizer including a mounting block configured to receive a portion of the hoist rope. The bail is pivotable about a bail axis and defines a planar surface. The equalizer is pivotably coupled to the bail. The equalizer is pivotable about an equalizer axis that is parallel to the planar surface of the bail and is offset from the planar surface.
