PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slide member excellent in terms of seizure resistance and easy to manufacture with high dimensional accuracy and a method for manufacturing the slide member.SOLUTION: Friction coefficient and seizure resistance are improved by welding copper alloy 11 to the surface 12a of a backup member 12 using friction pressure welding method or by improving the properties of a sliding surface 11c by performing frictional stirring on the surface 11a of copper alloy. The copper alloy is bronze-based copper alloy containing solid lubricant. The slide member is made of the bronze-based copper alloy having a chemical composition containing, by mass%, 0.15% to 6.0% of Fe, 3.0% to 16.0% of Sn, 0.3% to 3.0% of S, 0.01% to 0.3% or P and the balance being Cu and inevitable impurities. |
