PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hollow porous membrane with a reduced cost and excellent separation characteristic, water permeability, and mechanical strength.SOLUTION: There is provided a hollow porous membrane which has a porous membrane layer 11 having a dense layer on a hollow support 10 and in which the support is a hollow braid obtained by circularly knitting a yarn made of multi-filaments. The dense layer preferably has an average pore diameter of 0.01 to 2 μm. The dense layer is preferably present at a position within 50 μm from the outer surface of the support. The porous membrane layer is preferably composed of the dense layer and an intermediate porous layer having an average pore diameter of 2 to 8 μm. |
