PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotor for an electrical machine which prevents cracks when a magnet is subjected to excessive tensile stress during rotation.SOLUTION: A rotor (1) includes a rotor core assembly (2) secured to a shaft (3). The rotor core assembly includes a magnet (4), end caps (5, 6) secured to ends (9, 10) of the magnet, and a sleeve (7) surrounding the magnet and the end caps. The sleeve forms a clearance fit with the magnet and forms an interference fit with each of the end caps, where an adhesive (17) is disposed in the clearance between the magnet and the sleeve. The magnet and the end caps have bores (8, 12, 13), and the shaft extends into the bores of the magnet and the end caps. The end caps form interference fits with the shaft, and the magnet forms a clearance fit with the shaft, where an adhesive (18) is disposed in the clearance between the magnet and the shaft. |
