Provided are: a moisturizer which has a hygroscopic property and a moisture-retaining property; and a composition which has an excellent moisturizing property, an excellent antiseptic property and an excellent feeling upon application, does not undergo discoloration and does not take on any odor. A moisturizer comprising an acylproline represented by general formula (1) or a salt thereof (in the formula, the acyl group represented by R1-CO- represents an acyl group derived from a saturated or unsaturated fatty acid having 3 to 23 carbon atoms); and a composition comprising (A) an acylproline represented by general formula (1) or a salt thereof and (B) a bisphosphonate.
