The invention relates to the field of medicine, biology, pharmacology, and toxicology. Proposed is a method for determining the functional status of biological tissue in which a sample of said tissue is incubated under physiologically acceptable conditions in a medium containing an activator of chemiluminescence, said medium with said sample is aerated at different intensities with an oxygen-containing gaseous mixture, photometry is conducted on said sample, and the functional status of the biological tissue is determined according to the change in the intensity of luminescence at different aeration intensities. The technical result is increased accuracy in determining the functional status of tissues.
