Provided in an embodiment of the present invention are a method, device and system for scanning for access points and performing channel selection in a wireless fidelity (WiFi) network, the method comprising: a station (STA) determines a first channel in the WiFi network by a preset rule relevant to the service set identification (SSID) of a target access point (AP); and the STA conducts scanning on the first channel, such that the STA can detect the target AP by scanning when the target AP determines to use the first channel by a preset rule. In the method, device and system for scanning for access points and performing channel selection in a WiFi network provided in the embodiment of the present invention, an STA determines a first channel by a preset rule, and a target AP selects a channel also by the preset rule, therefore when the target AP uses the first channel, the STA can detect the target AP during first time channel scanning, thus having a targeted scanning, and greatly improving scanning efficiency. |
