PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device capable of removing a fine impurity from precipitation sand in a sand collecting machine.SOLUTION: When carrying sand S precipitated on a belt conveyor 2 out of a water tank 1 on an upper end side of the belt conveyor 2 from raw water having flowed in the water tank 1 on a lower end side of the belt conveyor 2 slantingly provided over an upper part from below in the water tank 1, the precipitation sand S on the belt conveyor 2 is carried to the sand carrying-out side of the water tank 1 by cooperating with the belt conveyor 2 by a carrying device 7 in an area P of exposing the belt conveyor 2 upward from a water surface W in the water tank 1, and the precipitation sand S on the belt conveyor 2 is agitated over the water surface W from under the water surface W by the carrying device 7, and an impurity floated on the water surface W is collected from a suction port 11a by separating from the precipitation sand S in response to its agitation. When agitating the precipitation sand S mixed with the fine impurity, since the fine impurity is floated on the water surface W in the water tank 1 by separating from the precipitation sand S and the precipitation sand S of separating the fine impurity is carried to the sand carrying-out side of the water tank 1, even the fine impurity can be removed from the precipitation sand S, and it is also useful for decontamination of radioactivity. |
