Electric plug arrangement e.g. for central airbag control devices in motor vehicles

An electrical plug-system with a large number of pole-pins, and comprising a given number of plug sockets (9) in a plug- socket part (1) and a plug-pin part (12) receiving the plug-socket part (1). The housing (2) which is made of an injection moulded plastics insulation material has a rectangular cross- section with long side walls (3,4) and transverse side-walls (5,6) and is provided with a device for locking and unlocking the plug-socket part (1) in the plug-pin part (12). The plug-pin part (12) likewise has an injection moulded housing made from an insulating material bounded by long side-walls (14,15) and transverse side-walls (16,17), the long side walls having a part wall zone (TW) for coding purposes. Coding slots or grooves (29,30) are provided on the inner face of the plug-pin strip's (12) long side walls (14,15), with the part wall regions (TW) having a coding structure formed by discontinuance of certain ribs (27,28) and/or certain walls of the slots (33,34).
