Curved section of pipe transporting abrasive material

An abrasive material esp. concrete is pumped through the curved section (1) a steel pipe. A pipe bend is made of sections at the end (2) each of which has welded flange (4) with external locating groves (20). A wear resistant ring (26) is embedded in the inner rim of the extremity (8,10) of each section. The ring has a much reduced wear rate than the flange. The flange may consists of a flange mantle (19) and an inner casing (22) with enhanced wear characteristics. The curved pipe section consists of pref. an outer pipe (5) and an inner casing (6) with enhanced wear characteristics. Likewise, the inlet flange (3) may consist of a flange mantle with an embedded wear-resistant inlet and wear-resistant inner casing.
