PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording apparatus capable of detecting a residual quantity of a rolled sheet while ensuring miniaturization of the apparatus and recording quality.SOLUTION: A recording apparatus which unrolls a rolled sheet, delivers the sheet, and records on the sheet, includes a roller coming into contact with the unrolled sheet, and a contact member coming into contact with an upper face of the unrolled sheet at a position between a roll section of the sheet where the sheet is still rolled and the roller. The contact member moves as the sheet is consumed in association with progress of the record. A relative variation of a position of the contact member relative to the roller is detected, and a residual quantity of the sheet is then detected on the basis of the relative variation of the detected position. |
