Fluid core light conductor for medical use

The light conductor comprises a tube from a plastic containing carbon and fluorine polymer, such as Teflon (RTM), FEP, or PFA, which is filled with a light-conducting fluid. The light-conducting fluid consists at least partially of dimethyl sulphoxide (DMSO). The light-conducting fluid contains up to 30 weight percent water, e.g. between 10 and 20 percent, or preferably 15 +/- 3 percent water. The water consists at least partially of deuterium (D2O).
