<p>The present technique relates to a receiving device and method, and a program which, in a DVB-T2 broadcast signal in which different profiles are mixed, enable the rapid reception and demodulation of a desired profile at low cost and with excellent noise tolerance. A receiving device is provided with: an information extraction unit which, from a broadcast signal which meets the DVB-T2 standard and in which a plurality of profiles are mixed, extracts information included in a frame corresponding to each of the plurality of profiles; and an operation control unit which controls the operation of the information extraction unit such that information included in a frame with a first profile and required for processing related to frame synchronization, and information included in a frame with a second profile and required for processing related to frame synchronization are always acquired, the first profile being a profile to which error correction decoded data should be outputted, and the second profile being a profile to which the error correction decoded data need not be outputted, among the plurality of profiles.</p> |
