PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling method, a control device for a cooling apparatus, and the cooling apparatus that are capable of saving electric power.SOLUTION: The cooling method uses a cooling apparatus 1 including a storage section 10 for storing a low temperature medium, a feed section 15 for cyclically feeding the low temperature medium stored in the storage section to an object to be cooled 5 through medium sending paths 11,7 and medium returning paths 8,12, and a cooling section 2 for cooling the low temperature medium stored in the storage section so that the low temperature medium becomes a predetermined set temperature, wherein the cooling section is constituted of a plurality of cooling units 20A-D, in which compressors 21A-D for compressing a cooling medium, condensers 22 for condensing the compressed cooling medium, and evaporators 23 for cooling the low temperature medium by the heat exchange with the cooling medium passed through the condenser are arranged in respective cooling medium paths 24. In the method, the number of operating compressors in the compressors 21A-D of the cooling section can be reduced when it is decided that the load in the object to be cooled is smaller than a prescribed reference and the cooling capacity of the cooling section is excessive compared with the load. |
