PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogen generating apparatus of a simple structure that suppresses a condensate backflow to an adsorption desulfurizer.SOLUTION: A hydrogen generating apparatus includes: an adsorption desulfurizer 2 to reduce the concentration of a sulfur compound; a hydrogenation desulfurizer 10 to reduce the concentration of a sulfur compound using a hydrogen-rich gas; a reforming reactor 11 to generate the hydrogen-rich gas by reforming a raw material; a first raw-material passage 1 to connect a raw material source and the adsorption desulfurizer 2; a second raw-material passage 3 to connect the adsorption desulfurizer 2 and the hydrogenation desulfurizer 10; an exhaust gas passage 4 to discharge the hydrogen-rich gas from the reforming reactor 11; a recycle passage 7 to take out a part of the hydrogen-rich gas from a first branch part 5 on the exhaust gas passage, merging it into a merging part 6 on the second raw-material passage 3 to supply the hydrogen-rich gas to the hydrogen desulfurizer 10; and an on-off valve 8 that is installed on the first raw-material passage 1 and closed during power source cutoff. The second raw-material passage 3 includes a passage 9 that is installed between the merging part 6 and the adsorption desulfurizer 2 and has difference of elevation so that the merging part 6 side is low and the adsorption desulfurizer 2 is high. |
