PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of preventing drying solidification of sludge to a diffuser pipe causing clogging of diffusion holes without imposing an excessive load on a blower (gas supply part) and installing new equipment, as an operation method of a diffuser used for aeration in an activated sludge aeration tank.SOLUTION: In an operation method of a diffuser, as a diffuser pipe (a diffusion part) 21 disposed in an activated sludge aeration tank 12, a pipe is used whose top is formed with a plurality of diffusion holes 23 for blowing diffusion gas and whose bottom is formed with one or more sludge entrance holes 24 through which activated sludge 11 goes in and out from the diffuser pipe 21, and a supply step of supplying diffusion gas from a gas supply part 22 to the diffuser pipe 21 and a stop step of stopping the supply of the diffusion gas are performed repeatedly. |
