PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk array device and the like which can perform data transmission by setting optimum data transmission parameters even for an external storage device of a new manufacturer or a new model.SOLUTION: Each of disk drive units 10 includes: a disk drive 11 including a data sending/receiving unit that sends/receives data with a control circuit; and a dongle unit 12 that is detachable with the disk drive, mediates connection between the disk drive and control circuit, and includes a transmission parameter storage unit 12b which stores in advance an optimum value of a data transmission parameter related to electrical characteristics between the disk drive and the control circuit. The control unit 20 includes a data transmission parameter setting unit 22 which sets a data transmission parameter between the control unit and each of the disk drive units to the optimum value that is read from the transmission parameter storage unit. |
