The device (1) has an expandable cushion (6) attachable below an upper level of a loading ramp (3). The cushion is formed by a flexible gas-tight film (9) with two covering edges (10). The edges are clamped and sealed at a support (7) in a use position. Mounting of the support and a dimension of the cushion after expansion are measured such that the cushion fills an interstice between the ramp and a loading area (4) of a vehicle (5) in the position such that the cushion accessibly interconnects a top face (3a) of the ramp and the loading area. The cushion is expanded by filling with a medium. The medium is a gas, air or a liquid medium.
