PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a headlight which has a discharge lamp as a lighting source, and is suitable for generating a wide beam substantially released from a parasitic light effect without requiring a cover lens having lens-cutting applied. SOLUTION: At least let two masks 21 and 22 belong to the discharge lamp 2, and two shadow zones S1 and S2 are formed over a reflector 1. The reflector 1 includes at least two zones 11, 12 and 13 in order to form a part of a beam under a cut-off line, has these zones 11 through 13 separated at transition planes PT12, PT23 and PT31 in the radial direction where light is diffused sideway by each different quantity of light, and at least, some of the transition planes are extruded in the shadow zones S1 and S2. As a specified application range, it is so designed that a wide cruising beam per European specifications can thereby be generated while no optical abnormality takes place. |
