PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain proper vehicle control according to the surrounding environment of a vehicle viewed from a driver by a vehicle controller which judges whether or not a vehicle can pass a front curve at the present speed, and controls speed adjustment or warning or the like. SOLUTION: A watching angleθmade by a direction (a) of a vehicle at a vehicle position P0 and a line segment (b) connecting the vehicle position P0 with a predicted position Pn is calculated, and when this watching angleθis beyond a reference watching angle, speed adjustment or warning is operated. The reference watching angle is changed according to the angle of visibility of a driver. The reference watching angle is set small at the time of a high speed or at night when the angle of visibility is reduced so that the speed control is operated in the early stage. Also, the reference watching angle is set large at the time of a low speed or in the daytime when the angle of visibility is increased so that the speed control is operated later. |
