The throttle element (20) has a fluid channel (26) provided between connections (22, 23), and a diaphragm element (28) displaceably held between two end positions. The diaphragm element is pressurized depending upon a fluid flow direction of a fluid stream into the end positions. A coil (39) is provided for generating magnetic field. The diaphragm element is partly made of magnetizable or magnetic material so that the diaphragm element is positioned in one of the end positions during presence of the magnetic field acting on the diaphragm element. The diaphragm element and/or a sleeve-shaped element are made of paramagnetic material. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a hydraulic actuator device (2) a method for controlling an operating condition of a throttle element in a hydraulic actuator device.
