PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a device capable of stably forming a full-color image with high picture quality even while the device is compact and operated at a high speed by forming a conductive layer in which metal oxide particles having specified primary particle size are dispersed in a resin and whose haze is a specified value or below on a transparent substrate. SOLUTION: In this photoreceptor having the conductive layer in which metal oxide particles are dispersed in a resin is formed on a transparent substrate, the primary particle size of the metal oxide particles is 1 to 100nm, and the haze of the conductive layer is <=40%. The haze is defined by Haze=(Td /Tt )×100, wherein Td is the transmitted amt. of scattered light beams which is equal to the transmitted light except for the straight transmitted light, and Tt is the whole amt. of transmitted light which is obtd. by subtracting the reflected and absorbed light from the whole light irradiating the object. If the haze exceeds 40%, the component of exposure light except for parallel beams increases, and especially for exposure with laser light, dots are not well shaped, which causes thickening or blurring of lines in an image.
