PURPOSE: A method for measuring recovery of a rubber article from deformation is provided to calculate the optimum linear equation according to measurement time using the recovery rate of the aged rubber article. CONSTITUTION: A method for measuring recovery of a rubber article from deformation is as follows. A rubber specimen 1.0~5.0mm thick is prepared. A tension test for the length of the specimen is repeated. The specimen is deformed into an O ring shape and kept circular at the fixed temperature for a fixed time. The specimen is exposed at the circular state is released. The distance between both ends of the specimen is measured more than four times and the recovery rate is calculated. The optimum linear equation is obtained based on the recovery rate. |
