摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To guarantee good mode and a high oscillation efficiency of a solid laser medium by bringing first and second heat conductive member, having high coefficients of thermal conductivity into contact with a pair of cooling surfaces of the laser medium from both sides and elasticity transmitting a pressing force to the second heat conductive member, so that the force can be applied to the laser medium. SOLUTION: A cooling mechanism 12 has a placing base 16, on which a solid laser medium 10 is placed in such a state that the lower cooling surface of the medium 10 is directly brought into contact with the upper surface of the base 16 and mace of a material having a high coefficient of thermal conductivity and a holding plate 18 which directly comes into contact with the upper cooling surface or the medium 10 in a state in which the plate 18 covers the cooling surface and is made of a material having a high coefficient of thermal conductivity. Tightening or bolts is stopped, when the lower surface of a horizontal-pressing plate 44 is closely adhered to the top faces of vertical supporting rods against the elastic force of a rubber-like elastic body 42. Therefore, a prescribed pressing force, which varies depending to the modulus of elasticity and physical machining accuracy of the elastic body 42 can be applied to the holding plate 18 in the vertical direction, and accordingly, a uniform pressing force can be applied to the cooling surfaces of the laser medium 10 on the placing base 16, in the vertical direction from the lower surface 18a of the holding plate 18.
