PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a signal repeater for achieving communication securing a band requested by a mobile machine, even in a portable radio communication system configured to utilize radio communication in an access line. SOLUTION: The signal repeater is an adapter 6 which relays signals between a portable base station 7 and a radio section in the portable radio communication system wherein a portable core network 1 and the portable base station 7 are connected by the access line including the radio section, determines whether or not it is needed to change a band in use in the radio section in the case of receiving a line setting request message which is transmitted from the core network in response to a communication start request from the portable mobile machine 8 and requests radio line setting between a portable mobile machine 8 and the portable base station 7 housing the portable mobile machine 8, and requests a relay radio core network 3 which controls the band of the radio section to change the band in use in the radio section when the change is needed.
